According to this post, LotRO will apparently not be renewing their Players' Council (PC) program. Or I suppose more correctly, "Players' Counlcils" as they have two (one is dedicated to PvMP - "Player vs. Monster-Player", LotRO's version of PvP).
So, one has to wonder - does this mean DDO is also re-thinking the PC? LotRO has had a PC for far longer than DDO, but then again, LotRO and DDO are different (I know, I know - that's a shock to some of you out there, but it's true). It's possible LotRO decided they get enough feedback on their Palantir pre-preview server to not need the PC anymore. DDO, on the other hand, no longer has the Mournlands pre-preview server and just has the Lamannia preview server (equivalent to LotRO's "Bullroarer" preview server).
Still, without any other explanation as to why it is being eliminated, that leave a lot of speculation. Is it a cost-cutting measure? Does Turbine just not have the man-power to oversee the program? And even though, as I stated above, DDO and LotRO are different, is it a foreboding of things to come for DDO? Is DDO's relatively new PC program "DOO-OO-OO-OO-OO-M-M-M-M-MED"? Perhaps not in the immediate future, but "SOON™"?
Only time will tell. {Time is such a blabbermouth...}
