Grammer*

I suppose it shouldn't, but it amazes me how so many so-called "professional" websites are chock full of incomplete sentences, run-on sentences, using the wrong homonym, and other grammatical errors.  I can only assume that they don't have proofreaders or editors.

Come to the Duck SIde

Bye, bye, Google.  I'd say it's been nice, but lately that would be a lie.

Blehlind E Hor

For the second time in as many years, I've lost a gaming buddy.

One Down, Several More to Go

Back in January of this year* (though it seems like much longer), I bought my first FDM/FFF 3D printer.  It has been fun, but at times frustrating, learning about it and about 3D CAD programs, slicers, different types of parts such as hot-ends, extruders, and even nozzles.  And now, my very first roll of 1kg filament is nearing its end.

American Travesty

For the most part, I try to maintain an apolitical online presence.  Not that I, myself, am apolitical - on the contrary, I have some very strong political views*.  There are several reasons** why I have deliberately chosen to be apolitical online, but primarily it is because I am right, and you are wrong (hehehe).

Joking aside, I feel the extremely rare need to speak out about the travesty that occurred/is occurring during the 2020 General Election in the USA.  Now, before you all get in a huff and start settling in to your inevitable knee-jerk reactions, this has absolutely nothing to do with who may have "won" or "lost" - so read on, if you dare.

The Re-(Re-?)Return of CR

You would think that being "locked down" at home would help facilitate posting.  You would be wrong.

Reflecting

I was going through some old e-mails, cleaning up my inbox, and I ran across a few from Shindurza.

Survival of the Luckiest?

Well, the inaugural DDO Hardcore League session has ended.  It seemed to be a big hit.  While there is no official word on when - or even "if" - it will return, I'd have to bet that it will, someday.

Change of Strategy

DDO is currently having a 3-month event.  Starting back in August, they opened a new, VIP-only server that will shut-gown on November 15th.  They call it the "Hardcore League" event.  The main rule of the event?  You have but one life.  Period.

Return to Krondor† (er, Baldur's Gate)

Once again, I will blame my extended lack of posting on that most dreaded of all four-letter words (W-O-R-K).  But seeing as how I selfishly promoted my own blog today (that being July 18, 2019, if you happen to be reading "in the future") on the DDO fora (sorry, "forums"), I figured I should probably attempt to put up a post.

Send in the Clones

NWO has a new update (U16) called "Undermountain".  And with it come major changes to several mechanics, including character creation and class progression.  Though it has been out for less than a week, so far, I'm not a big fan.

The Eyes Have It

Yesterday (being March 18, 2019, for those reading on a date later than this post), I had a procedure performed on both of my eyes.  They call it a "surgery" but to me "surgery" implies cutting and there was no cutting involved.

That's a Wrap

Before you go thinking the title is in reference to me signing off "forever" and never blogging again, don't worry your pretty little heads about it - it's not.  If and/or when that time comes, I'll probably not provide any type of warning or 'farewell' address post - it'll just happen (hehehe).

Yesterday, January 12, 2019, was the last "Shroudpalooza" run for this season.

Simplifying Complexity

DDO Stream has been hosting live table top gaming sessions of D&D 5E using the Fantasy Grounds (FG) Virtual Table Top (VTT) software.  As a matter of fact, FG is the official sponsor of "D&D Night on DDO Stream" (which occurs on Sundays at 7PM Eastern/4PM Pacific).

Small Update

Oy, vey.  Yadda, yadda, yadda...*something about real life getting in the way of blogging*...yadda, yadda, yadda...*something about that most dreaded of all 4-letter words*...yadda, yadda, yadda.

Return to Tabletop?

OK, so - here I am, back from the...not dead (would that make me undead?).  Work sucks.  If I were independently wealthy, I'd have a lot more time to play.  And Blog.  Though I suppose that wouldn't mean I actually would do more blogging - or playing.  But I digress...

Tales from PnP: I Wish

Recently, DDOstream has been running a series of live PnP games, using Fantasy Grounds (FG) as their Virtual Tabletop (VTT) of choice.  Watching a few of these sessions has got me a bit nostalgic for when I played 1st Edition AD&D*.  And I recalled a rule we used with respect to what is arguably the most powerful spell in D&D:  The "wish" spell.
